Synopsis
Courageous stories of Scouts who saved lives
Most of this family-oriented show’s content comes from the award-winning book, Running Toward Danger: Real Life Scouting Action Stories of Heroism, Valor & Guts, by Michael S. Malone with its 170+ action-packed tales of rescue.
Young Heroes uses an animated format to depict these amazing stories in an exciting and cost-effective manner. By actively recreating the heroic tales in a drawn format, some of the rather intense rescue sequences are more acceptable to the designated audience of scouting age and above. A unique educational bonus for each episode of Young Heroes will incorporate a complementary and instructive film segment on safety and/or first aid from an expert instructor.
Each episode of Young Heroes consists of four components. First is the Prologue (2 minutes), where the two hosts, a boy and girl of scouting age, introduce the series and an episode’s particular story. Then comes the Animation (20 minutes), where the action portion depicts a real-life scouting rescue with dynamic and compelling drawings. The following Instruction (3 minutes) features a first-responder expert who explains how to best perform the lifesaving technique(s) related to that particular episode. Finally, A summation (1 minute) by the hosts wraps up the show and its lesson and then give a sneak preview of the next show.
Each episode portrays the action and adventure that caused the scouts to spring into action to save lives, often risking their own, thus inspiring the audience. The show is approved and backed by the Boy Scouts of America, which gives it a built-in audience of millions of young people and their families.
