Screenwriter

Yaki Margulies

Yaki grew up in Seattle, WA and began his natural storytelling career by writing, directing, editing, and acting in short films throughout elementary, middle and high-school. After performing in community theater productions and graduating with a BA in Drama from the University of Washington, Yaki moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the arts.

A jack of all trades (and hopefully a master of at least a few of them), Yaki is a writer of scripts and short stories, an actor in numerous national commercials and various film projects, a recording musician, a stand-up comedian, a cartoonist, and a house-team performer and improviser at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Hollywood.

Yaki’s heartfelt stories champion flawed but sympathetic characters who’s sincerity inspires growth in humorous, often challenging situations, depicting the familiar world from fresh, unique perspectives. Yaki has also been a Jewish educator, Bar Mitzvah tutor, and officiant for fifteen years, working with a vast range of story-worthy students.
