Valerie McCaffrey
As an independent casting director coming from the studio level, Valerie uses her knowledge and her eye for talent to the producing capacity as well. She recently produced a film called Here’s Yianni with cast members Julia Ormond, Kevin Pollak, Rosanna Arquette, Joseph Cortese, and Eric Roberts. She is also the Executive Producer on the upcoming comedy Not Another Church Movie, which has cast Jamie Foxx, Mickey Rourke, and Vivica Fox.
From April 1994-2000, Valerie held the position of Vice President of Feature Film Casting for New Line/Fine Line Films. During her tenure at New Line/Fine Line, Ms. McCaffrey cast scores of films, developing strong relationships with all major talent agencies and management firms. Among the many highlights, she cast Edward Norton and Eddie Furlong in New Line Cinema’s American History X. Mr. Norton received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his gripping portrayal. Mr. Furlong’s performance was heralded as the best of his career. She also cast and produced a film entitled Neo Ned, starring Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Renner. Among other films that she has cast and produced, are Lost and Found in Armenia with Angela Sarafyan and Jamie Kennedy and the upcoming action sci-fi film called Kaia.
Valerie will be directing her own screenplay called Everything Goes to Pot, along with a historical feature World War 2 movie, called The Space Between Men. She completed an award-winning cancer documentary, Cancer, It’s in the System, which she co-directed and co-produced with Cindy Pruitt. She has cast feature films, Lost in Wonderland for Patriot Pictures, which stars Ella Travolta and James Cromwell, and Running with the Devil, which stars Nicholas Cage, Laurence Fishburne, Barry Pepper, Adam Goldberg, Cole Hauser, Leslie Bibb, and Clifton Collins, Jr. Valerie is also an advocate for finding young up and comers and cast Eliot (formerly Ellen) Page in their first American film in the critically acclaimed film Hard Candy. To date, Valerie has cast over 125 films.
Through the LAPD, Valerie taught drama to inner-city kids through the Jeopardy Program for 3½ years at Universal Studios where she put together shows and presented them to the entertainment industry.
