Gabriela Tagliavini
Gabriela is an award-winning writer/director who has helmed nine feature films and several TV series. She has directed five successful No. 1 films that are visually original. She has worked as a writer/director for top companies like Netflix, Amazon, Sony, Disney, Paramount+, Buena Vista, Starz, Voltage, Viacom, VH1, MTV, ABC, and HBO. She directed celebrities like Sharon Stone, Eva Longoria, Kate Del Castillo, Freddie Prince Jr., Mike Tyson, Billy Zane, and Christian Slater.
Her latest Netflix movie, Christmas with You launched No. 1 on Netflix in 26 countries and top 10 in 80 countries in 2022. Gabriela Tagliavini’s work had great box-office successes. Her Disney movie Ladies’ Night was No. 1 at the box office in Mexico in 2004, and her romantic comedy How to Break Up with A Douchebag opened No. 1 at the box office in Mexico in 2018, beating Blade Runner 2. Her Netflix original film, Despite Everything was No. 1 on Netflix in Spain in 2019.
For television, she was the creator and EP of a TV series for Amazon Studios, another for Sony TV Latam, and she sold a pitch to HBO, based on the prestigious novel The Anatomist. She developed an original TV series created by her and produced by the multi-Grammy winner Marc Anthony for Paramount+. A TV show she created was selected by the television competition organized by Ventana Sur and Netflix. And she directed the pilot and four episodes of the show Casa Grande sold by Warner Brothers and launched on Amazon Prime in 2023.
Gabriela Tagliavini received a B.A. in Film Directing from the School of Superior Filmmaking in Argentina and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute (AFI). Gabriela was selected for the Sundance Film Festival and WIF’s Women Initiative and was chosen as one of the 50 women who will change Media and Entertainment and won the prestigious ABC Directing Fellowship Program.
