Eric P. Granger

Eric was always the crazy uncle at family gatherings. As a Forest Ranger for many years (Yep, Ranger Granger), kids flocked around to listen to stories and songs from his guitar. In the early 80s, Eric began sharing stories by performing in dinner clubs. Later, he worked as a carpenter, building and repairing houses. In the late 80s, Eric became a luge racer in Lake Placid. Competing around the world, he earned six medals and a spot in the Olympic trials.

As Production Manager of the Lake Placid Art Center for the Arts and with a side hustle as an Adirondack Wilderness Guide, Eric began writing stage plays and a full-stage musical. He turned many of his life adventures into a Kindle book: “One Baby-Boomer’s Journey” Since then, Eric has written 13 feature screenplays and four TV pilots, receiving over 100 Screenplay Awards, including 20 Best Screenplays.

Presently, Eric lives in Lake Placid with his beautiful Costa Rican wife and incredible dog Max, all while juggling positions as Greater Adirondack Film Commissioner, film scout for Aracari Films, content contributor for GoldenNetwork TV, and founder of Placid Productions. To relax, Eric is a Film Judge for the Lake Placid Film Festival, the New York City Independent Film Festival, and director of the Lake Placid Film Festival Shorts competition.
