Hosted by Ron Winters

Top corporate leaders venture to ancient sites across the globe to find similarities to their businesses.

Hour-long Series | Reality Show

Synopsis

Renowned CEOs compare their modern company to past civilizations

Each week, this educational reality show will feature well-respected archaeologist Ron Winters, leading a celebrity comedian and a top CEO to a different location across the globe to compare today’s technology to that of past civilizations. Beginning with a visit to the CEO’s hi-tech company and then adventuring to a remote location, the audience will see how everything done in the modern world is built upon a foundation from centuries ago. The comedians will be chosen by their intelligence, humor style, and personal connection to the subject at hand. When a CEO is featured on an episode of arChaEolOgy, his/her corporation will receive positive press from the related branding and publicity.

Ron is an engaging and natural performer in front of the camera. Yet, while his forte provides compelling, in-depth archaeological expertise, being a professional entertainer takes a special skill. By the same token, CEOs typically do well in front of the camera as they ascend to their company’s pinnacle by speaking to the public, at events, and during interviews. However, most CEOs are not seasoned television performers. This is where comedians come in. Standing in front of audiences and cameras is what they are trained to do. Comedy is a tough industry and, to be successful, these humorists need to think fast, be fearless, and provide an enjoyable experience for all types of viewers. As the third person in the mix, the comedian will enliven the entire conversation, fill in as needed, and, in general, make the show more entertaining, memorable, and fun to watch. There is something special about seeing both the CEO and the comedian in the field—away from their typical environment.

A sample show might include archaeologist Ron Winters, the CEO of a national fast-food chicken chain, and a guest comedian—all searching for the origin of the first domestic chickens. Since each episode of the reality TV series begins with meeting the CEO in his/her own company’s location, they would start at the chicken chain’s corporate headquarters, where Ron and the comedian would learn about the employees, operation, research, marketing, and more. Subsequently, the trio would travel to China to see where the first domesticated chicken first was unearthed. Archaeologists, geneticists, statisticians, and historians sequenced ancient DNA from chicken bone samples to create a model that pinpoints when specific chicken genes began to change. A local expert would take the audience behind the scenes on an unforgettable private tour of the site.
